Some … ahhhh … are boring. Some are shocking! Others? Well they’re just plain confusing.

You know you need to make a great first impression. But maybe you’re trying just a little bit too hard. Here are some great tips to help you get started.

Things to the top and the left get noticed more, so put the important stuff up there.

Things along the left hand column get lots of attention, so don’t put any dates there. Slide them over to the right hand side.

The top third of your resume is the hottest spot on the entire page. So make sure and put your contact information, along with a professional overview that highlights some of your greatest accomplishments.
